The Hilton name is gone. The city's biggest hotel is known as the Grand Pittsburgh Downtown, at least for now.
Hotel workers took the Hilton lettering off the top of the building Friday morning, removed Conrad Hilton's picture from the lobby and took other steps to strip Hilton Hotels & Resorts branded materials from the building by midnight. Twitter and Facebook pages were being set up to promote the new name.
