SYRACUSE, N.Y., Nov 09, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Carrols Restaurant Group, Inc. /quotes/comstock/15*!tast/quotes/nls/tast (TAST 7.07, +0.04, +0.57%) , the parent company of Carrols Corporation, today announced financial results for the third quarter ended October 3, 2010.
Highlights for the third quarter of 2010 versus the third quarter of 2009 include:
Net income of $4.6 million, or $0.21 per diluted share (including a pre-tax insurance gain of $0.4 million, or $0.01 per diluted share after tax), compared to net income of $5.6 million, or $0.26 per diluted share (including a pre-tax gain on the sale of excess property of $0.2 million, or $0.01 per diluted share after tax); Total revenues increased to $201.6 million from $201.2 million, with a 4.0% increase in revenues for the Company's Hispanic Brands; and Comparable restaurant sales increased 8.8% at Pollo Tropical(R), increased 1.0% at Taco Cabana(R) and decreased 3.2% at Burger King(R);

Carrols Restaurant Group, Inc. Reports Financial Results for the Fourth Quarter and Full Year 2009

Highlights for the 14-week fourth quarter of 2009 versus the 13-week fourth quarter of 2008 include:

•Net income of $4.1 million, or $0.19 per diluted share (after impairment charges of $0.07 per diluted share, after tax), compared to net income of $4.4 million, or $0.20 per diluted share (including non-recurring gains and impairment charges, which in the aggregate reduced earnings by approximately $0.02 per diluted share, after tax);
•Total revenues increased 4.4% to $209.7 million from $200.8 million, including a 5.8% increase for the Company's Hispanic Brands;
•Comparable restaurant sales (on a comparable 13 week basis) increased 0.3% at Pollo Tropical(R), decreased 4.5% at Taco Cabana(R) and decreased 3.0% at Burger King(R);

Largest BK franchisee staying loyal to the King

The Syracuse-based company that is the largest single owner of Burger King franchises is standing by the chain’s promotion of a cut-rate double cheeseburger, and is not participating in an uprising being mounted by many other franchisees.

The National Franchisees Association, on behalf of 850 other Burger King operators around the country, has filed a lawsuit against the Miami-based Burger King Holdings Inc., protesting the corporation’s insistence that its franchisees offer double cheeseburgers for $1.

Carrols Restaurant Group, Inc. Reports Financial Results for the Third Quarter 2009

Highlights for the third quarter of 2009 versus the third quarter of 2008 include:


•Net income increased to $5.6 million, or $0.26 per diluted share, from net income of $3.7 million, or $0.17 per diluted share;
•Total revenues were $201.2 million compared to $209.1 million;
•Comparable restaurant sales decreased 0.1% at Pollo Tropical(R), decreased 4.3% at Taco Cabana(R), and decreased 6.1% at Burger King(R);
•Total outstanding indebtedness was reduced $25 million year-to-date to $291.2 million

Carrols Restaurant Group, Inc. Reports Financial Results for the Second Quarter 2009

SYRACUSE, N.Y., Aug 03, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Carrols Restaurant Group, Inc. (Nasdaq:TAST), the parent company of Carrols Corporation, today announced financial results for the second quarter ended June 28, 2009.
Highlights for the second quarter of 2009 versus the second quarter of 2008 include:
-Income from operations increased to $16.1 million from $12.1 million;
-Net income was $7.1 million, or $0.32 per diluted share, compared to net income of $3.3 million, or $0.15 per diluted share;
-Total revenues were $203.9 million compared to $210.7 million;
-Comparable restaurant sales decreased 3.1% at Pollo Tropical(R), 3.8% at Taco Cabana(R), and 4.7% at Burger King(R).
-As of June 28, 2009, the Company owned and operated 559 restaurants, including 314 Burger King, 91 Pollo Tropical and 154 Taco Cabana restaurants.

SYRACUSE, N.Y., May 04, 2009 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Carrols Restaurant Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: TAST), the parent company of Carrols Corporation, today announced financial results for the first quarter ended March 29, 2009.
Highlights for the first quarter of 2009 versus the first quarter of 2008 include:
Income from operations was $13.2 million compared to $9.7 million;
Net income was $5.0 million, or $0.23 per diluted share, compared to net income of $1.4 million, or $0.07 per diluted share;
Total revenues increased 2.9% to $201.3 million from $195.8 million, including a 2.2% increase for the Company's Hispanic Brands;
Comparable restaurant sales decreased 3.0% at Pollo Tropical(R), decreased 1.6% at Taco Cabana(R), and increased 5.1% at Burger King(R).

Carrols Restaurant Group, Inc. and Carrols Corporation Report Preliminary Financial Results for the First Quarter 2009

Total revenues for the first quarter of 2009 were $201.3 million, an increase of 2.9% over the first quarter of 2008, with comparable restaurant sales increasing 5.1% at Burger King(R), decreasing 1.6% at Taco Cabana(R) and decreasing 3.0% at Pollo Tropical(R). Based upon first quarter 2009 revenues, the Company preliminarily anticipates net income for the first quarter of 2009 to be $4.5 million to $5.0 million, compared to $1.4 million in the first quarter of 2008, and diluted earnings per share to be $0.21 to $0.23 compared to $0.07 per diluted share in the year-ago period.
